After the honeymoon phase, this game was really shallow as fukk.

Good game play can't save this trash ass game.

In the end it was a great game but bad MGS game.

Good gameplay, but disjointed presentation and story. Lack of boss battles and wasted opportunity with Mother Base. Glad they cut down on cutscenes but the ones they had were filled with weird slow-mo sequences of people looking at each other. Like seriously, was up with that?
Also I missed David Hayter as Snake.

23 missions in and it's still my favorite game I've played thus far this year, but I haven't gotten my hands on Fallout 4 yet which arrives tomorrow, so this could easily change.
I by far and away enjoyed it much more than I did The Witcher 3, which will likely get a lot of GOTY nods.

I was actually enjoying the game up until that chapter 2 bullshyt. I still feel like MGSV has the best game play out of all the metal gears. But with the bland overworld, no real cool boss battles, redundant missions,boring ass motherbase, the miss use of characters (IE Ocelot) the tapes that some of them should have been cutscenes and a plethora of other cut shyt makes this the most disappointing game of this gen.

Great Gameplay, i spent well over 100 hours playing it without being bored or hurrying to finish it. Kojima wasted Keifer though. Should have kept him in the studio for a couple of more days to record some dialog. I was hoping for some good Jack Bauer dialog / cut scenes but we didn't get it...

No other action game matches it in terms of content.

Open world massive size game with great visuals, great controls, and great gameplay. It was Kojima's first take on this kind of game and it was amazing. Yeah there could have been some more 'RPG' elements and random NPCs, but as it stands, it's not being touched when you compare it to action adventure games or stealth games.

Yeah it's easily the best stealth game out but... as a mgs game it was a let down.

I hope they strike a better balance with 6.
Edit: Action adventure wise it's not even comparable to other games because they are designed differently.

Wasn't a let down to me. Pleasantly surprised, thought the ending was a dope tie in to the rest of the series, made me, the player feel like a hero and a BOSS pun intended and out of all the other MGS games I know I've played this one the most.
