Why is this such a big deal now? Wasn't it not to long ago that most NBA players were rocking throwbacks. I don't recall ANYONE complaining about them wearing jersey's for other teams. this is just pointless complaining by a bunch of bytches.

Plus it's hard to play the "loyalty" card knowing how teams treat athletes like they're disposable..

I'm so sick of these articles and the idiots that cosign them. Get off these guys fukking dikks. It's clothes...clothes that you are not wearing. It baffles me that people can be egotistical and self absorbed enough to catch feelings over someone else's attire. You have nothing more important to do? Even worse is the hypothetical bullshyt: "Well if it was me" or "If I was the owner"...nikka it isn't you and you aren't the owner. You're a fan. What Ty Lawson chooses to wear on his own time has absolutely no bearing on your life or on his performance for your team. Fitteds aren't winning or losing championships. You cats admit it shouldn't be a big deal then proceed to make excuses as to why it's a big deal. If it's silly then it doesn't warrant discussion. :snoop:

The NBA successfully controlled what injured players are allowed to wear on the bench and now idiots want more control. There are genuinely delusional people out there that think they own these players. It's no coincidence that you see ridiculousness about players tattoos, hair and clothing. The undertones are disturbing and the only thing more disturbing is the people that insist there are no undertones to that shyt.

Your sneaker company does though, and players do that GLADLY.

but like I already said, I'm not trippin off this. I could understand if their employer did, but otherwise I don't care.

shyt, I remember a situation where Kevin Love was reading a Jerry West book "My Charmed Tormented Life" with a gold watch on top of the book. Somehow insecure Wolves fans viewed it as Love feeling tortured in Minnesota and wanting to go to LA, which I thought was ridiculous. It wasn't a shirt, a hat, nothing. It was a damn book. Fans get very over emotional, but that what every fan will be: irrational. I'm not worried about them.

i feel what you saying.. i believe the sneaker companies have very specific wording about wearing other companies shoes in public forums tho while the nba contracts say nothing about fashion like that.

i can see your point and all these super fans point which goes to my intial statement of people treating these dudes like they're above human or not supposed to live life. i love my hawks to death maybe more than i should but if al horford rocked a pistons hat i wouldnt trip..shyt if from michigan and if he wore a heat hat i wouldnt care cause i know when its tip-off he going 100% . i also feel like black people dont care because they understand where as the white folks/realgm type of fans go batshyt about stuff like this because they want us to be subservient and "slaves" to the team.. but thats another topic :yeshrug:

Right, sponsorships and commercials are all the NBA needs to survive. What the fukk are the owners for then?

I'm not disputing that. I didn't like how some poster was implying that the players need to act like some good ol' boys and bend over backwards for the owners, as if they really give a fukk about the players other than the money they bring in.

There's no reason to be mad at Lawson because it was the Magic and Raptors. What if it was a OKC, Spurs, or Warriors hat though? You don't care if D Rose is rockin a Bobcats snapback but if it were the Pacers or Heat there would be a problem right?

shyt don't really matter but its an image thing. The fans want to see you only about them, and all of the time.

from a fan perspective, i wouldnt care.....from a team owner view...u better be rockin no other NBA gear besides the squad

This really sums it up. Can't believe any black person doesn't understand wearing athletic gear for fashion. And even if it's something deeper (a fan since childhood, or an ode to a friend on the team, etc.) yousa lame ass person of this bothers you.

However, it's perfectly understandable why this would bother the team....so if they ask you to stop, you best stop. :manny:

The problem is that you people think these athletes care.

they dont. u think lebron james went home crying after losing the finals that one year? no he went back home to his million dollar mansion, kids, and wife. u think carmelo's depressed everyday after the knicks got eliminated? nope, he's chillin tryin to find what 5 star restaurant to eat at next

they're all just entertainers at the end of the day
uh no
there are plenty of pro players who are fierce competitors

I guarantee you Kobe is pissed off like nothing else following a tough loss. fukking guarantee it. nikka be up at 6am the next day shootin 250 jumpers in the gym from places he bricked the last night

some players just have that competitive drive where they absolutely HATE to lose.
