Athletes are public figures and celebrities. They get paid to wear shyt ALL THE TIME both in and out of work. There is a reason that when Nike gives a nikka a contract to wear shoes, they FORBID them to wear any other brands BOTH AT AND AWAY FROM WORK. Athletes are ALWAYS being watched. Its important they represent themselves appropriately all the time, because people are always watching them. Stop playing stupid because you want to defend the ignorant behavior of your favorite athlete.

Ask Coca Cola how they feel about one of their employees or people they sponsor drinking or talking about Pepsi. :mjpls:

@Hiphoplives4eva has valid points. These dudes ain't in fukking highschool trying to impress their friends and females. They're working in a multi billion dollar industry.

why are you comparing a sports contract to an endorsement contract.

The endorsement contract explicitly forbid the players from wearing a competitors merchandise in public and the athletes know it and agree to it.

The sports contract do not contain such language.

It doesn't matter if it's not in the contract. There's unwritten rules and wearing the brand of another team is one of them. You will never see Jeter rocking some Boston Redsox apparel.

There are?

Well why do some many players wear other teams hats and how come no players ever say anything about it?

And again I'll point out the throwback craze from years back. Lots of athletes were wearing throwbacks of other teams jerseys and not once did I ever hear anybody complain about it. This is just some new bullshyt people are trying to be on.

It's just dumb to wear another teams apparel no matter how stupid and childish it might be for fans to care. I'm not going to wear another companies logo at my job that's so dumb I terms of career

i look at throwbacks differently though. if an atlanta hawks player is wearing an '85 nuggets jersey, it's one thing - but if that dude is wearing a 2013 denver jersey, it's pretty :dwillhuh:

different sports, different era, etc...i get it. but an athlete (who's playing the same sport) is rocking another team's current jersey...that shyt is fukking weird to me, man.

sure, it's their own time and they can wear whatever the fukk they want - it just seems like an odd choice, all things considered.

none of these dudes are doing it at their job
yeah but not even outside of work especially if there's a good chance of me being seen in it regardless of what I think, it's what others think and it does count
