Somebody more knowledgeable can come in explain this but Im pretty sure tour money is not paid to the artist by the label. But by the promoters and sponsors of the tour. Which is how most if not all artist make money today.

The only thing the label pays the artist is recording royalties. He's only sold 400,000 records to date with combo of his last two albums. Before Tyga gets paid the label has to recoup their money they spent on him (advance, recording/studio fees, mixing, mastering, distribution, etc). This is recouped from TYGA's percentage of the record sales. Lets say Tyga gets 80 cents an album that means the label would have only recouped $350,000-$400,00 (assuming $10-$12 per album) from him (probably more cause with the 360 they get a cut of the touring, merch and all that). So unless the amount they spent on TYGA (advance, studio fees, videos, marketing, etc) is less than say $400,000 I doubt they owe him any money. Thats my understanding of how it works.

The publishing is paid to the publisher who then pays the writer.

Juvenile and them were really OWED money hell 400 degres sold like 4+million copies, thats 10x what Tyga has sold in two albums in ONE album, imagine when you add up the rest of the catalogue, there's NO comparison.

what i would never do is sign to a label, with the 3 most popular artists in rap right now... and sit back and chill and be seen and go to nice hotels and shyt...

naaaaaaaaaaaah i'm at the studio, fukk if i don't have a budget... be on your show and get 1k and go to paris... or book 1 of mine for 5k and pocket the money...

i remember the young guns saying something like this.. they had a whole tour booked.. getting big money.. then jay wanted them to open on tour.. they could barely live off jay's tour... years later they hurt and jay gone..

shoulda made your own money when you had the chance.. you can't expect labels to do this shyt for you... and if you do expect it, once you figure out they ain't fukking doing it, why you still sitting around 5 years later with no music still done?
