It's 100% a cac issue. Age is really irrelevant

Those Rolling Stone clickbait "Top 100 Hip Hop Albums ever" lists are made by hipster cacs in their 30s
It all comes down to knowledge though. I’m uninterested in what a casual 30 something of any race has to say, but hearing the perspective of someone like Dante Ross is different.

That's why I don't even look at or discuss those lists

But every time like clockwork there's multiple page threads and arguments on twitter about these bullshyt bait ass lists:snoop:

Nikkas don't understand that engagement trolling is the meta
It’s a losing argument, as history is being rewritten, but it’s important that those with knowledge point out the bullshyt for posterity.

:youngsabo: too many people trying to look "educated" and give the "best choice" instead of talking about shyt that resonates with them. Treating sports and film, the same way. Too much ranking albums w/ each other instead of talking about what this album good, bad, etc. It's not that confusing, but some nikkas thread salty.

illmatic a great album, but I played that Maad City Album front and back for month, that album means more to me. Somebody might personally resonate w/ illmatic, and that's okay. Let's talk about it.
Nikkas so defensive about their goats they refuse to learn something or see the truth

The irony is a few months ago there was this thread asking why the fukk is Rick Rubin so revered and rich when he himself admits he has no discernable musical talent. The posts in this thread are the reason why:mjlol:

No it's NOT a different subject, it's the entire point:pachaha:
For real that’s literally what this whole thread is about. Some people still don’t fully get the point Tyler making

Na there is no point. Hes just complaining about old shyt under the guise of something deep: and ended up talking in circles.

He wants people to essentialy talk about how an album “personally” affected them. That skill and all that talk shouldnt matter.

Thats not how music rating works first of all. One album aint better than the other because you had a personal experience with it.

Hes upset because the people who are of age to see him as great, are finding better albums in the past. 17 yr olds shouldnt be listing 90s albums as their favorites. Not because its wrong; but because time wise it shouldnt work. But because raps in such dire straights, kids gotta go back to the classics which stand the test of time.

If someone had those same personal
Experiences with 36/rtd, then whats the problem?

Again his reasoning is a reach and a half. All because you see the 90s albums as superior (which they are. Its like saying 70s rock isnt superior to 2000s rock) doesnt make you a “poser” or a wannabe. It means you love the genre so you go back to what defined it.

Going out of ya way to hate on that… with thtose 2 albums in particular. under the guise of what hes saying. He has always had a thing about being compared to wu, and seems he still has it being under them and others that made his career possible.

Yea right…

There is no problem with this, the nikka said it himself. Did y'all watch this video?:dead:
Did you? He clearly said 17 yr olds saying 36/rtd being the best annoys him. “Because” they have no experience with it. And taht people use the lists to show how much they know.

Why didnt he use his own older albums?

He's not saying that.

If Illmatic is in your top 5 because Nas' lyricism and storytelling made you go :banderas: he's not talking about you. He's talking about the guy that has Illmatic in their top 5 because every single publication has it in their top 5.

If someone had those same personal
Experiences with 36/rtd, then whats the problem?
If you had the personal experiences with those album, then you're not the type of people he's criticizing.
