Not a reach at all. Tyler just needs to leave the (contrived) "shock" bars alone (I haven't heard the album yet). He's just as nice bar for bar as 2012-13 Kendrick, but his last 2 albums weren't my cup of tea. From what I've heard though... it's not a reach at all.

He's gotten considerably better as a rapper
and his production has only gotten better while
keeping his style.
But in comparison to dudes in his camp he's
only like the 3rd or 4th best rapper in the whole group.
Closest thing to Kendrick over there is probably EARL.
I mean think about it Tyler as a rapper right now is
where EARL was when he dropped his debut, that's
how far ahead of Tyler that kid is.
Domo genesis is the next best, dude is ridiculously nasty.

As far as his production it's genuinely great, I can listen
to most of Goblin all the way through, and b*stard/wolf
from front to back because the beats KNOCK
If we were to do a comparison he'd obviously be more
talented at production because we have no Kendrick produced
tracks to compare against, if we compare them as
lyricists....then it really isn't a comparison.

in this thread is going on about "Respecting Hip Hop"
when that same user has displayed monumental ignorance
to the genre on

You can't really say just cause one dude is doing all these different thing means he's more talented without knowing what the other capable of. if we're talking strictly as artists currently no one is matching Kendrick's level, he's been able to create a critically acclaimed album and is known as one of the best rappers right now period.

GKMC . is the best debut album of the last 10yrs.. and is a classic album i still lsiten to it everyday
but tyleroverall as an artist he is just
these 2 are by FAR the 2 most talented younger dudes in hip-hop.. kendrick already gets that recognition and he desereves it..
but this WOLF has me just as impressed as GKMC... for different reasons...
hip-hop is in a good space...
