That was over 14 years ago. Most of his original core fans are in their late 20s/early 30s

Agree entirely. He's a bedroom artist that has been elevated by the internet. He's a B+ producer and a C rapper. He makes good cohesive projects but songs never stand out. I don't think he's ever written a great one.

And he has never overcome his influences. The production on that last album literally makes me stop and go listen to better Neptune's music.

Imagine if Lil B had a crew following him around and doing gay shyt together. That's basically Tyler the Creator. It's the only reason he got anywhere.

I bet he got opportunities off the strength of his gay identity too. Industry folk probably knew about it well before he came out.
