Its blowing my mind of how Mr "fukk school, burn people, kill wolf golf gang, fakkits" became a level headed Higher Learning breh deep into the game :lupe: . LIke this is the same man that talked about beating off all throughout the day and talked about raping dead women.

Like ....WHAT :why:

I like that song he has with yachty but I really really do not like anything about him after I watched the video. He’s not even a wigger he’s a legit some white guy. I can not co-sign this lol

you're falling for the okie-doke. ian intentionally markets himself as "some white guy," so that his whitewashing of black culture isn't as appallingly obvious as culture vulture forefathers like slim jesus. dude is to current hip hop trends as the beach boys were to chuck berry. aka, take our music and market a friendlier, safer version to white people for profit.

where are y’all getting this Tyler is a troll rapper shyt from?

Dudes online and interview persona was indeed that of a edge Lord but Tyler doesn’t have entire albums of mocking people on some Eminem shyt.

the Most controversial and edgy music he made was when he was 19, which was like 13 years ago.

He always had quality and inventiveness in his music but Since pretty much cherry bomb or flower boy Tyler has put a lot of honesty and insight into his music so I have to totally disagree with the whole broad stroke painting of him and odd future for that matter as a troll act.

tyler's biggest issue early imo was that his influences weren't all-inclusive. he clearly fukked with doom, pharrel, eminem, and clipse heavy, and wore those influences like a badge of pride. but the stuff he didn't fukk with (whether it was because he didn't know or didn't care to), he wore that too. and when it pissed the old guard off he doubled down and trolled them, to the point where i felt like people believed the trolling and underrated just how much of a hip hop head he really was. he just wasn't bowing down at the altar of illmatic or 36 chambers. and that's ok.

the maturity he's grown into has been amazing to see. because imo he's never been afraid to stand on his beliefs; he's just speaking more on grown man shyt now.

TBF when he started out, he wasn't really on that whole shock vibe. His earlier work was just him making music, and just wanting a grammy. Then he conned the cacs into believing he's this skateboarding shock rapper, when all he wanted was a grammy.

My main gripe is him being a entire ho to Brandun Deshay who he needs to give roses too, as he bit his entire style from the melodies to the raps.

to me the shock rap was a result of the hold eminem had on him. they were always hanging out on the other side of LA as far as i know, so the skate shyt didn't seem forced. but SSLP and MMLP were basically the blueprint for b*stard and earl, lyrically (and like em, they saw how effectively it boosted their profile). the same way neptunes/NERD were tyler's sonic blueprint early.

he eventaully grew into his own identity though.

not super familiar with the issues with brandun. but from the little i do know, it seems like there's plenty of blame to be shared between the two.

DJ Khaled calling Tyler's music "weird" had nothing to do with Tyler's early shock value raps, when Khaled made that comment Tyler was already way past that stage. he called it weird because it wasn't the typical paint by the numbers/formulaic bullshyt that Khaled makes.

I remember there was an issue with Deshay putting vol3 out the same day b*stard came out and then a bunch of other little stuff behind the scenes got amplified because of that.

TBF all of OF at the time were young, hungry and dumb. Brandun seem like he was coming into his own out of OF which Tyler felt some type of way, while Tyler could have just respect his lane. Also, the demonic energy of OF at the time made Brandun chuck the peace sign.

I hope that they squashed the beef because they did some good music together.

:hubie: I said what I said

Listen to his raps and you can tell dude inspired Tyler to slow down on the devil shyt.

Beat wise, dude started out with the futuristic chords that Tyler ended up "borrowing".

I figured all those brehs were on that shyt because it was around the time Toni Braxton? Leaked the neptunes drum kits. Jet age of tomorrow was hella spacey back then too pre Matt forming The Internet. The first internet album still had those elements. They did a joint album back then as well, The Super Deshay.

True. When they were the Super 3, they pretty much help inspired Brandun to do that vibe along with Tyler. I take it back, honestly Jet Age needs their roses because they had a choke hold during the blog rap era, as they were the closest thing to that old Neptunes sound.
