Bassam became the "Tyrant" like his father and brother
Their daughter was kidnapped and killed on video which sent both him and the wife over the edge
there was supposed to be a democratic election but a civil war was about to break out so Bassam postponed it
He declared Marshall law of some sort and started arresting those who apposed the throne including his girlfriend/mistress
His marriage was pretty much over but the wife forced him to stay in it because ultimately she loved the power and she wanted revenge for the daughter's murder

pretty much, nothing was really resolved because Bassam was already considered a tyrant by the local people but he thought he was still saving his country
but in the end he realized he became what Jamal and his dad were
Molly went crazy after the daughter died in the middle of the season so she just fully transformed into what Jamal's wife was at the beginning of the series
I think the last scene was Bassam with Molly by his side launching some missiles thus starting a war

I’d like to revisit this show. I dropped it after season 1. Thought it was good but I didn’t want to invest the time. I remember the bad arabial chicas.
