But from what I understand, they don't even get payed for being played on the radio. They have to pay the radio to play their songs. Its a money drain. Radio is there for exposure so they can make money on the record sales and concerts and just proliferation of their product.

Again, modern radio doesn't play whats popular. They play whats pushed by the record companies which usually translates to who the record company decides to back. Besides, "mainstream radio" is going the way of the doo doo bird anyways so this is becoming less and less relevant.

Lets be real though, more than likely a record company is going to pour more money into a white R&B or Rapper who is immensely successful because of inherent biases that whites will not seek out black artists in the same way and therefore it equal less money. Though...unfortunately, this is probably close to the truth :yeshrug:. Also lets face it. Those rocker white folks are the same ones who say "I hate rap besides maybe Eminem and *insert 90s rap group no one really listens to anymore to be different*". So the record companies know there is racism in most of their consumers where they'll be turning the station if Tyrese comes on compared to Justin Timberlake.

Expect fair racial treatment in the US brehs.

:mjlol:

I'm sorry that was immature of me but I couldn't resist.

I don't undrrstand yall who are saying we need our own stations.

His songs are getting played on the Black stations. Whether owned by us or not, the Black format is supporting him.

The problem is that it's stopping there for him. And if that same song was by a white artist it would likely be more mainstream.

I don't know why but a lot of people in this generation don't want to hear R&B music mainstream from black artists :yeshrug:

"Hip hop" and "Pop" are what's popular. Hell even white people groups like Match Box 20 and Goo Goo Dolls who in the late 90s young white kids listened to were popular then, today music like that isn't mainstream like it was.

Sad to say but if Tyrese "sang" in autotune and had Future featured on his song the white stations would probably play his music more :francis:

Black people make music genre, enemy race likes the music, enemy race doesn't like the creators, enemy race infiltrates the creators, enemy race learns how to imitate the creators, enemy race successfully steals the creators creation, creators complain, rinse repeat.

Shame is a legit soulful "black" sounding song. Its hard to explain. You just have to know what im talking bout. Songs like Shame doesn't resonate with white people because they lack the "soul" that we have. Black artists have to make "pop" sounding music to get play on stations aimed at white audiences. Thats where the Jason Derulos', Ne-Yo's & Usher's come in. They can "crossover". The REAL R&B singers with soul like Tyrese, Jennifer Hudson, Raheem DeVaughn and Jazmine Sullivan doesn't resonate with white people because of their own lack of soul
