These threads always go like this unfortunately.

Crumpet/tea/daggers/accents, etc. Us black folk can be incredibly closed minded about things.

Crazy thing is, crumpets (marmite on top) and tea is a good combo!

1.Marmite is nasty as hell, nikka.
2.We're open-minded enough to keep y'all around (online) and SHARE digital spaces without massing up and going 100% crazy with the mockery.
3.Black UK culture is young (born in the 60s). The culture it spawned from copies AAs. Add Naijas and Malis (2 groups that already bump heads with AAs) to the mix and you have weird admiration/resentment on 10. Shout outs to DJ L with "grime" bass, though.
PS

DAT
SANTANA.
I've never heard of any Black Americans bragging about beating up or robbing a "guest artist" on home soil. London (not much now) and Toronto are thirsty for that type of recognition.
I'm not sure they want that type of attention or spotlight, tbh. Imagine a hostile response to your accent instead of "curious questions" - in a country with more guns than people.
:wow:

Production wise it sounds like all the other sparse and sterile sounding shyt popular today. The artists themselves are meh. I’m not the target audience though

they updated now

there used to be more of a noticeable gap between the source here in the states & elsewhere

now they can study up in real time & stay on trend

it was better when grime and afro beats were the driving influence, now every drill song sounds the same.

If you're not from London you can't appreciate the early days when MCs would actually have to compete and clash. There's a reason why Drakes been dikk riding the UK scene for the longest :yeshrug:

Lol marmite is nice man and nutritious!

TBH The U.K. black culture is based on African, Caribbean, AA and White English culture. We’re young, no doubt in that.

Its the same producers. Axel, Melo, etc are all from London and producing for US rappers and influencing the producers here. That’s not the only sound coming out of the U.K.

No US rappers are comfortably riding on beats like this

Thats pure U.K. Afro beat

Airplane Mode :mjcry::blessed: Needed that song to pop here.

The UK scene is a good spot. They've found their lane musically, fashion and it's beautiful.

Even got YouTubers dropping decent songs.

now we are going back, let me state this carefully..Britain is responsible for some of the greatest modern music in all genres including reggae and soul..this was due to time and great influence.
now in contemporary times..the UK is fugazi when it come sto music..

soul 2 soul , black box and many more during the 80's and 90's were dropping bombs!!!!!
