Yup. Republicans push against the hiring of IRS “agents” was all about that. First, they weren’t all agents, a lot were customer service reps and other positions. And a lot of those were going to go after the rich and corporations.
It’s easy to go after regular guys that just have a W2 and nothing else. You need resources to go after the rich and corporations with all types of investment vehicles, offshore accounts, tax shelters and shyt.
Yup. It was a $80 billion investment from the Inflation Reduction Act.
Some of the money was clawed back but there has been a lot invested at the IRS the last couple years.
