but since you asked me, you want dems to cut spending? how about they abandon the god-given idea that anyone who works for the government can't be fired and is owed an 80% pension from 55 until they die at the taxpayers' expense? because it sure as fukk isnt working out for california, illinois, connecticut, etc

damn straight they do on red meat issues like national security because the only way to show your people (that's white people with the toxic mix of stupidity and racism) you care about america's security is through military spending. america isn't a country where everyone votes, it's a country where the people who are most likely to be negatively impacted by their govt don't vote and the people who do vote love those things so republicans always have home court advantage when it comes to national defense and crime. a democrat has to prove that he does't want terrorists blowing up your house and thugs raping and killing your family because they do until proven otherwise.

because spending doesn't need to be cut, taxes should have never been cut. if anything taxes on the wealthy needs to be higher because they are the ones profiting the most from the economy.

The same reason Republicans didn't want to let ObamaCare get started. It's hard to take something away vs. getting people to vote against it in the first place.

Humans respond to visuals more than anything. A boarded up base and people out of work is more of a gut punch than reasoning with voters whether or not the base was still even necessary in a post-Cold War era. The same reason why we think bombing a country is doing something vs. cyberattacks (which most people will never know until their credit score goes down for no reason).
