It's not about banning über or not. Their employees need to be classified as enployees.

Siillicon valley can't have it both ways: if uber is a neutral technology platform then so was the Silk Road.

I buy drugs off Facebook all the time, someone arrest zuck.

Make every uber car get a medallion, and fukk all these racist ass cab drivers. I'll be happy.

Yeah those Uber/Lyft drivers being considered Contractors is a crock of BS.

I wish the business would change tbh, I have never understood why the Taxi Service does not move into a subscription model. Living in Lexington, KY the traffic out here during the day is absolutely HORRIBLE. You literally cannot get across town (mid sized town with ~300K people) in less than 45 minutes to an hour. If Uber/Lyft and all these Taxi services would get their shyt together we can clear the roads and get people around the city in a more efficient manner.

Public Transportation will never work in this town because it is laid out like an old European city so Uber has a great opportunity to limit drivers who sign up and pay them a flat rate per hour. Charge riders a monthly or yearly subscription and I think they will stand to gain much more, once you can advertise a service for a fraction of what it costs to operate your vehicle on a yearly basis makes it much more enticing for even more people to look into the service.

The subscription model will benefit drivers because they will not see the slow days they sometimes do during the week and also benefit the riders because you know you can request a ride 24/7/365 for a flat fee. I think $100 per month per rider is a sweet spot that should be considered starting out, obviously there will be limits as to how far your rides can be, but I think it will be the model going forward once all this bs with traditional taxi services comes to pass.

We are living in a subscription based world, it's time the Taxi industry catches up.

That's the problem I have with the way these things work. They are simply mad because a company came in and absolutely destroyed their business model. Instead of coming up with a better solution to do business, they go to local officials and cry.

Even if Uber fails (which I don't think they will), the business model has now changed forever. What you will see now is national taxi services instead of a bunch of small taxi services that provide horrible service to riders.
