The game changed when all these new drivers came in post 2015. Used to be able to clear like 400 in a day without even trying. Now rates are cut, not too much surge, entitled riders wanting multiple stops on minimum fare. I only drive when it surges or it’s a long distance ride with tolls

I did it over the summer. Made about $15 an hour before tips and bonuses.

Except for a few times, I only had to drive to the airport and around downtown, so I never put a ton of miles on my car. Only did it on weekends tho.

I mean uber some shyt meant to be a side job in most areas
If you live in a nice metro city with a popping populace and you make that much you clearly not hustling
Now if you live in a place like Jacksonville or some shyt that makes sense but still, it’s primarily a side job, so it’s still better than not doing anything and making nothing

I volunteer at the Salvation Army preparing taxes for low income people during tax season. I’ve seen people make an honest living ~ $45-80,000 a year driving Uber in my city.

I remember last year I prepared taxes for this guy who recently came from Somalia who worked full time as a parking garage attendant and drove uber part time. He made $50k driving pt for Uber and barely $30k as a parking attendant.

I dunno...I know a dude making 1500 a week doing uber, but I'm in NY so...

WHy people hate on uber so much? That shyt can be a lifesaver for people in between jobs. You can make like 500 a weak doing uber eats if your hustle is up to par.

Damn.

That seems unbelievably low.

Edit: I'm guessing that doesn't take into account tips?

Two rides an hour with avg of $5 tip and they are up to $13.37 an hour?
Leet?
who tips Uber’s?
$5 tip on a $10-15 ride :skip:

The real disgusting part is no insurance no unemployment no recourse for protection no all kinds of shyt, but its still classified as "employment" to cook our employment numbers books smh

So the fukk what? All you gotta do to drive an uber is literally sign up, upload some documents and pass a background check. Download the app and start driving. Meanwhile all these other "employers" are making people fill out work history fields on their shytty websites after you already gave them a resume and never call you back. The shyt I hear people tell me about looking for work is depressing as fukk. Take away uber and what you left with?

I can dig that, but either it's employment or it isnt....if it is, it should come with employment standards... at least after a certain income threshold is met...

and if it aint then don't use it to cook the books and mislead the public

SOME PPL MAKE LESS

I define being employed as working for monetary compensation, and that is what people who drive uber/lyft do everyday. People out here are literally feeding their families off that income, regardless of benefits and all that other shyt. The uber eats example I brought up is some real shyt, because my man was in between jobs and doing that legit helped him pay bills till he got back on his feet in the midst of looking for more stable work. And from the consumer standpoint uber wins as well, it's convenient, efficient, and affordable. That's not "slavery," like people in here are saying, that's actually a blessing.
