Any uber drivers in here, are the benefits worth the tradeoff? If you're an employee I assume uber will get to set your schedule, dictate your route, approve or deny time-off requests, set dress code etc

I always thought the main attraction to Uber was the ability to "be your own boss" and decide how much you want to work and make.

I think this is more about benefits and healthcare

I mean you have 2 companies, yet to turn a profit, that are forced to compete. Uber can't set the prices they'd need to thrive as a company, because their customers will turn to Lyft.

They probably need to bite off 4-5$ for that initial fee. Either that or they lower our profits and then we're out

Last time I was in a cab was 2013. The Indian pestered me about “did I have the money to pay”, pooted in the car and it cost like $40 for a 15 minute ride.

Can't drive to the polling station because your car got repossessed.

Can't catch an Uber to the polling station because that's conveniently shut down.

Can't take the bus to the polling station because America never invested enough in public transit and many nearby polling stations were closed so you would need to spend the entire day riding multiple buses to get there.

Somehow you get to the polling station and they tell you "OOPS! You're not registered to vote! You thought you were? Nope, sorry! Here's a provisional ballot that may never be counted and we can't mail to the appropriate place."

You miraculously get into a voting booth and the electronic voting machine accidentally records that you voted for Trump.

You fill out a paper ballot and the nice old ladies running the polling station give you the "I VOTED" sticker and after you leave they throw your ballot into a paper shredder because they heard from Q-Anon that all the young and/or non-white people voting have been brainwashed by socialist pedophiles.
