Agreed. All the heavy lifting, lobbying, and marketing for that type of service has already been done. California is high rev for any service that's ready to get in there and make it work. Uber won't stop operations, I'm almost 100% certain of that, this is them pouting and trying to force the state's hand. If they do pull out, and another company starts to move in, they lose whatever make share they have there forever.

my dad ran his own cab service during his retirement... got put out of business when uber/lyft came thru and under cut him.
