Yeah it's on uber, but this accident was caused by another driver trying to make a turn despite oncoming traffic.

The biggest obstacle this technology faces is the fact that a computer can't calculate bad human drivers. People can be a$$holes on the road.
This has always been my fear, computers can't speak a$$hole, entitled range rover driver.

This type of technology just simply could not work, unless every vehicle on the road operated under it at the same time.
As long as there's a mix of autonomous vehicles, and human driven vehicles, there will be a plethora of situations in which accidents can and will occur.

let me break this down real quick.

the companies behind automated driving face one problem after their tech is ready (and it may already be)....
that problem is dealing with other cars that are driven by humans.

if they approached a third world city and paid the them for one day of only automated driving and showed impressive results it would be a wrap.
if they approached a first world city and got a section of the the area to only use automated cars with impressive results it would be a wrap.

this shyt is gonna happen but there needs to be a display on a large scale that people can look at and say :whoo:

knocking out self driven cars is gonna need a watershed moment like that to really make it happen.
the two co-existing is gonna fukk up the ultimate goal and will never reveal the potential of having all automated cars.

btw, i enjoy driving.
Politics don't work that way breh

Nah I know money talks but them politicians need to reelected... are people going to still fall for "automation regulation killing jobs " when automation is snatching jobs

They will still be able to get re-elected with this shyt breh..

Have you not paid attention to how stupid, people are in this country :skip:

The funny thing is, they will spend all of this money to drive with us, but once we are eliminated, driving will be something simple for them that they can essentially already do. We make it hard for them.

A driver not being able to account for bad human drivers is like a drug dealer who can't account for stick up kids.

It is essential to the core of driving to account for stupid people.

Which is why, like another poster said, it would be in their best interests to pass laws restricting the amount of human drivers on the road.

I cant really argue the logic of this but next we're going to make a way to have sex virtually and ban real sex. We'll create a system of treadmills and videos that will be just like going to the park then eliminate parks.

Breh, did you really compare having real sex to driving cars?
:gucci:

Sex is a natural function that keeps us from going extinct. Cars get you from point A to point B.

If you can increase road safety by automating cars to follow traffic laws and eliminating accident causing human drivers, then logically that would be the best move. Your car would still be taking you from point A to B, in an arguably safer manner

What is the logic behind banning sex?

Sex has many drawbacks.

Sexual abuse, disease, unwanted pregnancy, jealous lovers, heartache.

If virtual sex was perfected you can easily eliminate actual sex and still procreate. They procreate without sex now.

All of that shyt could be avoided if you choose a good mate and aren't fukking every girl that's willing.

How much would it cost to procreate without sex? And how would that be a more efficient than natural sex?
:gucci:

And how is that in any way comparable to driving a car, and having the constant possibility of another driver hitting you cuz they were driving drunk or reckless?
