Does anybody know the full extent of the damage done to Jon Jones toe? I don’t wanna say that injury slowed him down throughout his career but that’s the first I think I’ve seen him tape it up in a fight.

He wasn't prepared for the choke, his ground game needs a lot of work.
Its not even ground game, Greco Roman wrestlers will work you in the clinch. Thats why Jone's grappling has been so dominant. Most guys are on the cage usually trying to stall or work a takedown. Jones is there looking for a choke.

Thats how he got Machida

I've been skeptical of Gane because hes said in the past that he didn't care about winning the belt, rematching Ngannou isn't a big deal for him, he doesn't train outside of fight camps, etc. Gane doesn't appear to have that competitive drive/spirit that a lot of champs have. I didn't think Gane would lose so quickly, but I knew if the fight became a battle of wills he would give up.

I feel like people are really not understanding what Jones did. This wasn't some crazy KO or submission. He literally took that kick from Gane and proceeded to show everyone that Gane didn't belong in the cage with him. Like him or not, this was an impressive win.
It was impressive after 3 years away to come to a new division and win against a top guy
At the same time he was pretty heavily favored for a reason and it's cause Gane got badly out grappled by a very one dimensional Ngannou

I thought 3 years away would be too much personally but as soon as I saw that first take down I knew the fight was over.

I'm getting pretty annoyed by guys like Gane and Alex Poatan getting pushed to title shots facing only strikers that favor their style though. Gane would lose to Curtis Blaydes very clearly and somehow that fight was never put in his path to not one but two title shots
