Styles make fights, Gane probably beats every other HW on the roster.
Gane's weakness just happens to be Jon's biggest strength.
Also, I think Gane got psyched out facing Jones, its like guys in SF4 making mistakes fighting Justin Wong.
Some legends have that effect on their opponents.
Multiple HWs who actually know how to grapple (Spivac, Blayes, Aspinall, Stipe provided he's not too washed up) would beat Gane fairly easily

Dude has 10 fights in the UFC magically never facing anybody with a shred of grappling until his 10th match (previously lost to a one dimensional power puncher on the ground too) and gets submitted like a white belt and now I'm supposed to think he runs over all the grapplers in the division? :mjlol:

None of those guys have the grappling ability combined with the intimidation factor of Jones. I dont see Gane bending so easily to any of the other guys you mentioned.

I feel like people are really not understanding what Jones did. This wasn't some crazy KO or submission. He literally took that kick from Gane and proceeded to show everyone that Gane didn't belong in the cage with him. Like him or not, this was an impressive win.
Yeah, Jones walked Gane into that mistake. Well, it fast forward but got him to fukk up really quick and took advantage of it. Did what he said he'd do, make it look easy.

Do they have the grappling ability of Francis Ngannou? :what:

Gane cannot grapple
Literally only fought strikers, only one tried to grapple he loses
Finally faces a grappler and looks like a complete bum and gets washed in two minutes

No I'm not picking him against any grapplers foh

I think before this fight Gane had a chance against most grapplers. Now everyone is going to take him to the ground, he needs to learn grappling ASAP.

But to be fair, do we start to question Gane's bjj and wrestling? Maybe he's just not that good.

It was impressive after 3 years away to come to a new division and win against a top guy
At the same time he was pretty heavily favored for a reason and it's cause Gane got badly out grappled by a very one dimensional Ngannou

I thought 3 years away would be too much personally but as soon as I saw that first take down I knew the fight was over.

I'm getting pretty annoyed by guys like Gane and Alex Poatan getting pushed to title shots facing only strikers that favor their style though. Gane would lose to Curtis Blaydes very clearly and somehow that fight was never put in his path to not one but two title shots
Yes we should question Gane's wrestling/grappling but we need to give Jones credit. Being away for 3 years is a long time in any sport and usually ends badly. Him beating Gane isn't what was impressive, it was the way he beat him. Like @42 Monks said, very few heavy weights could have looked like Jones did tonight and none of them would have looked like that after a 3 year break.
