Ronnie I feel you.
Aight... I was thinking about this the other day.
There are still remnants of that brutal type of discrimination & prejudice. When it comes to cross racial situations. To a point where, blacks can feel uncomfortable doing certain things. And although we can say what ever we want in certain situations, in certain professional environments, there is still that hesitation, like "Nah, I going to chill, let me talk a certain way, let me not get passionate like I really can."
What I'm syaing is, the past & brutal history subtly affects us in ways where we will be reserved not because it's the appropriate thing to do, but because the person may be lambasted because that behavior is associated w/ "being black."
Meanwhile, whites feel comfortable saying & doing whatever until there is a force that makes them feel uncomfortable.
When I see a situation like this...I'm just happy that, even if it was a misunderstanding, there was a backlash & she most likely felt very uncomfortable about it. Something that, 50 years ago, would have been laughed off by her & her family.
