It was Written was ballsy? I never got the hate for It Was Written...people more hated the image Nas had took on at the time, with the whole Pink suit thing. But It was Written to it's credit showcased some of the best rapping I've ever heard from Nas. Quite possibly his peak (Take it In Blood, Suspect, Shootouts, etc). Lyrically it was much, much better than Illmatic. It just wasn't as solid.

Yeezus is just fukking noise, better comparison would be everyone calling Nastradamus classic now after shytting on it when it came out...which isn't ever going to happen.

that's a horrible comparison actually and if you feel the sonic sound scape of yeezus is just fukking noise than i don't know what to tell you but id listen to it with headphones and actually listen to that noise some more its Prince Paul level of sampling for the new age

Sort of reminding me about an accelerated version of Common's Electric Circus, in terms of how it's received. Fans seem to be slowly coming around to it. For such a polarizing/jarring album, Kanye didn't even try to make it go down too easy at all - he just sort of put it out to let it do what it would do. It really is a good record though. The production is really interesting, and it's a grower as far as the rhymes go, too (though it isn't touching his previous albums lyrically). Future classic, I don't know; may influence how others take on production.

Not going lie.....when I first listened to the album I was like , shyt was just so :midblown: was expecting it....
Turned it off and was like at Ye for releasing it but I kept finding myself listening to it.....
It's not a classic but it's also not as bad as I thought when I first listened to it....
On Sight is probably the worst song he's ever released....that was the worst song to start any of his albums......
It's a solid album....
