Kemi basically a big culture warrior right? Only thing I can remember she did was go hard on trans and stuff. Not a big picture type?

She's pretty much singing from the same sheet as Candace Owens from everything I've heard of her.

She's popular with Borisy Brexiteers and really popular with racists who need cover, but I can't see her convincing enough of the country to worry Starmer. She's fukking nuts and doesn't hide it well.

Almost three quarters of universities in England will face financial problems next year - despite tuition fees increasing, the BBC has been told.

A report published on Friday reveals how financial issues faced by most universities are even worse than previously thought. The Office for Students (OfS) predicts more than a third are likely to have serious cash flow problems.

The regulator had said it expected 40% of universities to be in financial deficit in 2023-24.

Now the OfS says by 2025-26, 72% could be spending more money than they have coming in and may have to use an overdraft or financial reserves, with a total £1.6bn deficit forecast across the sector.

I wonder if this may be used as a pretext to push for an increase towards the breakeven fee:
The blueprint says that each domestic undergraduate costs universities in England between £12,000 and £13,000 a year to teach and support. While the document does not ask for a specific amount, it says that a tuition fee increase and greater government investment is needed to halt the sector’s “slide into decline”.
