I know about Germany. i already did all my research about the German universities which ha good programs. That's why I mentioned needing to have at the minimum B2 proficiency to be able to go into the programs. All the good courses are taught in German. For other fields it is different, but for the STEM fields German is needed.

depends on the stem i suppose.

comp sci seems to have more options.

i speak german to C1 level.

I have B2 goethe for WWC.

I never actually studied at uni in germany tho.

I remember we had talked about Germany amd schooling before. I was looking at Humboldt, Frie, TU Berlin then TUM, LMU and Bonn.... Only Bonn was offered in English, but it was a lower choice for me... I had looked at Goethe here and thought about doing their course, but them prices to start from A1 and get to B2?????........ :whoo:

This was around a decade ago now and for pre med/medical school a lot of native english speakers were getting degrees in Hungary/Poland/Scandinavia

When I live/lived in Spain I see the same but they're probably mainly at private universities... still probably cheaper than the UK

food for thought

I also once upon a time looked for programmes in Germany . I found one that I liked that did (does) teach in English, though it seems even if you are taught in English, you will still need to know German to integrate socially anyway. (I still want to learn, I still have all my school books and everything :russ: it's just the time...)

Damn when my mum was in Uni in the 90's it was £1,000 per annum

I didn't know tuition was that high for undergrad for domestic students as well
I watched an episode of Yes, Minister a couple of days ago and in 1981 they were apparently charging home students £500 a year!

ugh whenever they say link in bio, I never see the link

(There is a further link within: Bloomberg - Are you a robot?)

Yet the research suggests that one reason why Black graduates receive disproportionately high rejections is that many find out about the pathway to specific careers much later than peers. For instance, 50% of Black students say that they learn about careers in the professional services industry for the first time while they’re at university, which means that they may miss the deadlines for internships, often a deciding factor during the job application process.

This is a problem wider than just race, according to the survey, and also carries broader socioeconomic implications. The paper said that interviewers are often looking for candidates with ‘polish,’ which often translates to an ability to be comfortable in a corporate setting. This can be especially tough for candidates who are first in their families to attend university, the paper said.

I think polish overlaps quite a lot with cultural fit, which is probably going to a difficult method of exclusion to combat.

Yeah, to echo one of the replies, I'm not sure who this "traditional Lab voter" is :patrice:

tubungen is in BW. near stuttgart.

you don't need german there.

the russian, ukranians and saffahs seem to fit "culturally" despite being very different.

what they mean is that they don't want the markers of working class or and urban-ness UK in their midst.

it ridiculous as it's not as if you are moving in together.

it's just work.
