I never said that sexism was greater than racism (though that could be argued). I described their existence, and that both are toxic to people. Black male privilege is real. It may be slight, but it exists. The society that you create outside of white supremacist society will be patriarchal. That is what we are trying to change. We don't hate black men. We want to help you. Once many of you get rid of your sexist notions those of us with objections will happily join in the fight (we're already denouncing it on our own anyway). Who wants to be in a movement that won't allow you to be a leader anyway? Also, I don't need to be "reached". I'm quite intellectually capable. This isn't true and it's easily debunked. Racism trumps sexism on every level. For proof just compare white women and black men. White women are privileged in every way in this society over black men. We live in a white male patriarchal society, not a male patriarchal society. This is something black feminists don't seem capable of understanding. To even think that there's such a thing as black make privilege in a society where the black man is public enemy #1 is silly.
Again, your mentality is undeniably divisive. All you're basically saying is that as a black woman you see black men as your enemy/oppressors. I get it. You don't think much of black men because you perceive us as oppressors of black women. My thing is, why deny that? When people call your ideology out as being divisive and counterproductive to black unity, why lie instead of just owning up to it?
Firstly, I'm not a feminist. I'm a womanist. We do plenty to help the community. Firtsly, we uplift black women. This is something that I personally do with the children in my local school system. The black feminists call attention to problems that we face in our community. It was two black feminists who organized that 75,000 New York March. I find it laughable that you all praise MLK Jr. for doing that, but you mock those women for doing that.So what are you doing to help out the Black community as a Feminist? And where are your comrades? Inquiring minds would like to know.![]()
Patriarchy, women not feeling sexism was dealt with was a large part in the collapse of the civil rights movement. So if this is civil rights era II, we need to learn the flaws that contributed to the destruction the first time and do this with a much more progressive outlook.I never said that sexism was greater than racism (though that could be argued). Exactly, no one wants to be a second class citizen in their own movement!Patriarchy, women not feeling sexism was dealt with was a large part in the collapse of the civil rights movement. You are making some over generalizations concerning Black men. It seems like you're asking for a seat at the table that Black men aren't even sitting at. What's more important to you....Being Black or being a Black woman?I never said that sexism was greater than racism (though that could be argued). They're not separable. I want an entirely different table for blacks only where we all sit there as equals. The best among us regardless of gender will lead, and there will be a better future for blacks. You are making some over generalizations concerning Black men. That's a fair notion, but is it counterproductive to try to say I want respect from whites as well as Black men? Meaning that, if you had to choose one fight to fight, which battle would it be against. White supremacy or Black male sexism with in the fight for respect.? Because there have been some strong Black female activists, but it's also known that if shyt ever gets real, Black men are not going to rally behind a Black woman. Think about when you see a Black couple; if you notice that the woman is making all of the decisions and running the household and is in charge of the finances; you're going to view that man as weak. Should there be a fair and equal exchange of ideas and solutions? Sure, but ultimately, I believe that the head of any movement that relates to Black people should be lead by Black men. They're not separable. I want an entirely different table for blacks only where we all sit there as equals. The best among us regardless of gender will lead, and there will be a better future for blacks.
This kind of doube-talk is another form of dishonesty. "Uh uh I didn't say that.......but it could be true"I never said that sexism was greater than racism (though that could be argued).
The belief that sexism is just as oppressive to black women as racism is one of the principles that black feminism is built on and it's not true. You can argue anything but that's weak. I just debunked that and you've said nothing to refute my counter. And I described the society that we live in as a white male patriarchal society, not one that privileges all males over all women. It's dishonest not to acknowledge that fact.I described their existence, and that both are toxic to people.
No it doesn't. There is no black male privilege in this society. It's insulting and disloyal for black feminists to run around parroting that lie. Especially when it's actually the other way around.Black male privilege is real. It may be slight, but it exists.
Making blind negative assumptions and broad negative generalizations about all black men isn't helping miss. Let me make some generalizations about women like you. I think that black women like you are insecure about being black women. I think that black feminists fear and envy black men much like white men and that's the source of the resentment. I mean damn, black men have been damn near completely emasculated in this society and black feminists want them to bow down even more. Seriously, what "black male patriarchy" what "black male privilege"? Since you're intellectually capable then I expect tangible real examples. None of that truly oppresses black women. The only systematic oppression that black women face is white supremacy. Trying to take the focus away from white supremacy and put it on socalled black male sexism/patriarchy or anything like that is nothing but a deflection. Black men are not your oppressors, they aren't your enemy. You can't take that stance then deny that you're divisive. The society that you create outside of white supremacist society will be patriarchal. That is what we are trying to change. We don't hate black men. We want to help you. No, the realtor who owned the school started selling off different buildings and the land on the campus. He stated that he was looking at a school down in Mississippi to purchase. He is trying to raise 2 million, but I thinks he's only received around 300k so far. Which isn't bad seeing that he's not going to the government or the Black elites for donations. Even though I feel they won't fukk with him anyway because he's message is a strong, Love of Blacks first, message.
