For LA, this is probably the worst example to use in the " It's not just happening in NYC, it's happening here too!" defense.

1. Boyle Heights, isn't being overran with white people.... it's being transformed by natives and Mexicans who want all the amenities of gentrified areas,without erasing the culture and history of the neighborhood...


2. Boyle Heights being gentrified, does little to nothing to displace any type of history that neighborhood has in regards to hip hop.... it's very different from Harlem being turned into "North Manhattan"

Most ATL rappers are not even from the CITY. They are from the suburbs and surrounding areas. Post posters here who rep ATL live in the surrounding areas as well.
