This seems like a bad hire. Malone is an NBA guy. I don't think he'll relate well with college kids

College kids want to get prepped for the NBA, regardless how realistic or unrealistic that is, most of them, especially at a school like UNC, think they're NBA-bound at some point.

Tyler Hansbrough actually brought his name up last week on one of the Field of 68 pods as a guy that nobody was talking about as a candidate, surprised it didn't make any headlines before his hiring

I get your point but 54 isn't old for coaching..some of these white coaches look older than what they are..
As an example Dawn S. is older than Mike by a year..and we all believe she can coach for another 12-15 years if she wanted to and still considered young/entering her prime in the coaching game..
