Was that expensive? I thought and assumed that was the going rate. Granted this was 5 years ago but $1000 overall wasn't to bad to me.

How much do they cost now?

Also I paid without help from insurance so many the people you have talked to have gave you the cost if what they paid with the assistance of their insurance provider.

Why do we need more threads like this ?

To show insight into our people's lives.

That's why I visit this forum among others. I like to see numerous people's opinions on a common topic. I would never get this caliber of responses in 'real life'. Also what I find interesting is that out of all the people I have told in person who I'm not related to give me kudos for doing it. Not once has someone said anything bad to my face about the issue but the fact that everyone is behind a screen in this situation, I can receive all kinds off feedback without the filter.

These nikkas are crazy. I'm not saying to not take proper precautions in not making babies you cant afford. I.e. condoms, birth control, abstinence, and marriage. What I'm saying is that to go through a medical procedure such as a vasectomy is nothing short of insane. I also deplore anyone advocating the mutilation of ones genitals when less drastic measures can be administered.

the way I see it, there's nothing wrong with never wanting kids. Too many parents out there don't want their kids and raise them in hatred because they never wanted a child in the first place

I can count on one hand how many couples I have met who auctally planned when they wanted their child. For everybody else it 'just happened'. Fortunately I like to be in almost total control of my life so this was a necessary precaution.

The judgement is real though. People try and shame you into having kids just because you're 'supposed to'. Then judge you or complain when it's child support time.
