You can be successful and still have your ambition capped, that was the point I was trying to make. yes there is a culture of victimhood. Yes there is a system of oppression. Both of these can and do exist at the same time.I still don't agree with you. Anyone who can and does put in the work can be successful. There is nothing currently holding BP back except a culture of victimhood & environment of people encouraging negative habits.
Maybe you have decided to limit yourself but don't put that on the rest of us. You're not a CEO because you're Black or did you not pursue it?

And yes I have goals to become a CEO one day but I’m not going to sit here and act like there aren’t any barriers for me to achieve these goals. One of which is being black, the other, being a woman.
Have a nice daySo you're not a CEO because you're Black and you're a woman correct?

So what opportunities have you worked toward to be a CEO where you were blocked?Have a nice day![]()
First, your question doesn’t pertain to me directly since I’m not even close to that step in my career ladder. Indirectly, I plan on obtaining a management level position within the next 2 years and am currently working on my certification. So what opportunities have you worked toward to be a CEO where you were blocked?
First, your question doesn’t pertain to me directly since I’m not even close to that step in my career ladder. Indirectly, I plan on obtaining a management level position within the next 2 years and am currently working on my certification.
Second, your question is dismissive of the many experiences minorities face in corporate America.
I spoke about my first had experience on here a while back. I was paid less than my white male counterpart for the same job and more experience. Now, your here telling me that had happened because I didn’t work hard enough. It’s a slap in the face.

I didn't tell you that you didn't work hard enough.
I asked were you not a CEO because you are a Black woman. Then I asked what opportunities as a CEO have you worked towards where you were denied.
I never denied racism but to say that you aren't able to become a CEO because you are Black or a woman is a lie and antiquated.
I never even said this. I said there were barriers that make it harder. Stop putting words in my mouth.
You getting paid less has nothing to do with the topic. I manage people who do the same job and they all are paid differently...it has nothing to do with sex or race. It really has to do with who has the better bargaining skills.
That’s your experience and industry you work in. Glass ceilings are a thing and it doesn’t be fit you to deny it.
And even if you were paid less for being Black nothing is stopping you for moving on or starting your own business.
Um, I did move on but the point I’m making is it shouldn't have happened in the first place.
Again if you honestly feel like your sex and race limit you that's your business. But you shouldn't feed other people that. Its very self defeating, unproductive and simply not true.
Once again, it does not benefit you to deny that glass ceilings, unfair labor practices, and violations of eeo do not exist. Should we keep quiet and let these things continue to permeate?
You’re arguing just to argue. I don’t have a defeatist attitude, you just took what I said as having that position. I speak in realities.
You do have a defeatist attitude. You can literally become a CEO today.
And just like I can't speak for everyone nor can you which is why you should accept responsibility for the future failings as a CEO you expect to have and not try to tell other Black people what they can't achieve.
Just because someone didn't pay you what you thought you deserved doesn't mean all Black people are limited.
The majority of the population will never get to that level...White, Black, Man, Woman...it's not a race or sex issue regardless so the statement is still wrong.I think she means CEO the sense of a Bill Gates or a Jeff Bezos. The elite of the elite who posses a overwhelmingly large portion of American wealth. That does not mean black people cannot become rich or wealthy, though not to that degree. That type of wealth is accrued through systematic advantage.
Your ambition can be hampered and your progress sabotaged as a black man. We don't have the same access to capital as other races. We don't have the same educational or business opportunities, and we don't have as many businesses to look upon for inspiration. Nothing wrong with recognizing the game is rigged against black people. That doesn't mean it's impossible to be successful, but based on the current numbers, improbable.
Service based economy with no one to serve will do it.Isn’t unemployment at 5-6% now? How will it jumpmto 50% in less than a month?![]()
