I got hurt really bad once, almost bled to death, Woke up in a hospital the next morning with stitches.

Never paid them a penny. I didn't consent that, didn't get an opportunity to negotiate anything. If you gonna save my life just leave it that. let it be a good altruistic deed.

I have quite a bit of medical debt, especially for fukking ambulances - my insurance paid like $800 per, but they bill like 2k for not even 20 minute rides and no life-saving equipment need. I have to call them to basically tell them to accept the insurance rate and stfu bc it's ridiculous I'm not paying that shyt.

What if you had $400 in medical debt from 2 years ago? Is it retroactive?:lupe:
Do your own independent research but I think you are good mud.

Experian, Equifax, and TransUnions decision to remove and no longer report any medical collection accounts with balances under $500 is a separate policy, not based on the CFPB rule that just got reversed.

my credit score is like 830 right now, but I've missed medical debts by accident over the years, and if it were to pop up on my credit report, I simply wouldn't care TBH. I don't even need credit anymore so they can suck my balls.

Im curious.

Would you accept a tax increase in order to reduce the cost of ambulances?

When I was growing up I remember a lot more ambulances belonging to the county. These days, they all seem to be private companies. I'm sure each of them is trying to get their little profit on each ride. It seems like this is a service that shouldn't be privatized at all, to eliminate the profit incentive.

Just off of some napkin math, it should be about 1.5 m to run and staff a single ambulance 365/24/7, not including liability insurance. At that $2000 per ride rate, they would only need to deal with two emergencies a day to make that amount. And we all know they have a lot more cases than that, so I smell a profit incentive for your high charges
