Should have just did a poll for which is the better album :heh:

Everyone’s mentioned the beats but also it comes down to Freddie vs Pusha. Pusha is too concerned with being ominous and mysterious. It can take away from his bars. Even on the opening track about their parents it was unnecessarily ‘coy’. He tends to rap in circles. Freddie’s bars have more punch, more direct, while still being lyrical
You missed the 3rd variable; Malice who outrapped both of them.

Malicious is the best rapper out of all 3

Pusha will tell you this

Bars wise there is no contest. Both Malice and Pusha got several verse of the year contenders on there. Gibbs is spitting too but the Clipse album is like a rap powerhouse performance.
Yellow diamonds look like pee pee, I got the white glove I’m Luigi, on the flight connected to the weefee :laff:

Are you smoking dust my nikka or trolling. The problem is he gave them too many up tempo beats. That album is a classic but I think it would’ve been better if they got with Alc instead of Pharrell.
Go listen to listen to lord willin or the unreleased exclusive audio footage. Clipse was rapping on beats you could dance to. That's really what made them stand out. They were lyrical coke rappers on beats that had bounce. I like their new album but those beats barely have hi hats . Lgsto just sounds like east coast rap ,good east coast rap, but I kinda expected Pharrell to come up with something more ground breaking or unorthodox to show people Chad wasn't doing all the work.

Alfredo 2 by a looooooooooog mile. Feeling with Larry June alone shyts on 90% of that overrated opulent weed plate.
I fukk with both albums hard. I get that people want to compare them, but they have super different aesthetics and styles. I think they both work super well. I'll probably listen to Alfredo 2 more often because I'm just a sample head, and I skip 2 songs on the Clipse albums and maybe just 1 on Alfredo 2, but man...both albums sound fire in the car too.

Bruh I'm not saying he needs to make a beat from 2008, I'm talking about him doing original harder hitting records like he used to.…. It has nothing to do with date...its about the level of creativity, style, and uniqueness of his production.…. His current shyt “sounds dated” and stale that's my whole point.…

he's put out shyt like this that fits that motif

Just not as much as he does the elevator shyt...its rare that he does anything out of his new comfort

Im talking specifically about Alchemist production tho.… which always had its own frame of reference outside of what other producers did... “boom bap” varies in definition by person anyways but that's a different conversation

You'll never hear his sound being this diverse these days and that's what's wrong
I feel like his sound is more diverse now. :manny: I don't know. The beats on the last Roc Marci album don't sound at all like anything on this Gibbs.

Like, the beats on Alfredo 2 don't sound like the beats on Alfredo 1. Like…that’s a big debate point among the Alfredo fanbase right now. Some people don't like that the production is different, and others like that it is. But they have very different vibes. Alfredo 2 is more luxurious and smooth, and Alfredo 1 is a little more raw. And same with the 2 Roc albums he produced. Half the fanbase likes Skeleton more than Elephant, and vice versa. They sound hella different.

The shyt he has coming up on this new Mobb Deep album you might like. And this Lulu 2 shyt sounds way different too than the recent Gibbs or Roc stuff

That doesn’t really prove anyone wrong. Clips album had a better roll out.

A lot of casual rap fans prob missed Gibbs dropping
Even if it had no rollout and still won, a Grammy is a fukking opinion. I’m not comparing the situations, but nikkas act like Macklemore didn’t happen.

I hate it when mfs try to make art objective. nikkas gotta stop dictating others opinions on shyt and be confident in what they like
