there like 4 other albums competing for that 5th spot DAMN isn't better than any of those
ah yes the mark of consistency like KC, BP3, BP2, Magna Carter were some amazing pieces of work. I Am isn't a bad album at all 2 named compilation albums where's apart of maybe 10 tracks total?
what year does the 99% of rappers start? Cuz if you're talking about this trap shyt, then yes. If you're talking about the golden era of hip hop, then his best album wouldn't be top 30 among those years. Let's just say from 87-96. Let's take the best 20 albums from that era. You're trying to convince us, KL's worst album would be better than anything dropped in that time frame?Objectively, Kendrick's weakest album is better than 99% of rappers best album
Nobody fukks with Kendrick on a musical level, it's just a fact.
Why you even quote that stupid ass nikkawhat year does the 99% of rappers start? Cuz if you're talking about this trap shyt, then yes. Is Nas grade complete yet?His discography is hard to top at this point and he clearly remains relevant, which means his albums are still putting points on the board (and taking points off the board). I'm not going to make any definitive statements until it's clear he's stalled or finished when it comes to relevant/forward pushing albums.
That being said...the man has three classics and won a major rap battle. That alone is gonna put him in GOAT conversations. Not saying he's the GOAT. His grade isn't complete yet.
He's got 1 in my book AG 4:44 is a weedplate imoGuys like him make it harder to defend Jay. Notice how he didn't even mention the Stillmatic/Lost Tapes/God's Son period, Life is Good, or the entire Hit-Boy era which was six albums over three years. Instead, he brings up bullshyt like QB's Finest and Nasir to make it seem like Nas has a trash discography.
No shame at all, talking about Jay like he dropped multiple classics in a row before he retired and pretending that since his comeback, he hasn't had only two objectively great albums in twenty years (three if you count Watch the Throne).
Kendrick never had the swagger of Hov or Nas though. And not enough of the freestyle moments or stand out verses.
Kendrick has bodies of work that are cohesive but I never felt I was “getting something” from his music outside of the fact that he’s someone who feels like he has something to say.
I felt like I was LEARNING from Hov and Nas about business and how to move. Kendrick doesn’t do that.
