drug cartels are a necessary evil to keep agencies open and give a politicians a long problem to solve (and keep getting elected for). With that said, Americans have little patience for crimes perpetuated by People of color. Let bodies keep dropping in Mexico in a highly publicized way and rest assured, agencies would get involved because as @Piff Perkins said, these types of cases is their version of dope on the table.. Careers (and budgets for agenciesY'all keep bringing up the US dealings in handling Afghanistan, Al-Qaeda, and ISIS, etc scenarios as if it's the same thing in regards to dealing with a drug cartel.
First of all, the US doesn't view drug cartels in the same manner as terrorists, they would never apply that much pressure on a drug cartel even if they killed a few Americans, the only way the US would intervene that deep is if the Americans killed were important people (US embassy employees, DEA agents, US officials, etc).
Yeah, the US would intervene but not to the extent y'all trying to apply to the situation.
The US would never turn uber patriotic (like they've done in the aftermath of 9/11 and ISIS related situations) and send in troops, drone or missile attacks, etc shyt y'all talking for just any ole simpleton American that happens to get caught up and killed by Cartels and/or their offspring gangs.
Y'all been duped by American patriotism propaganda and military complexion beliefsif the Cartel didn't order the gang to turn themselves in and release the last two hostages, they probably would've been dead already.
The cartel has tech nerds, they're not TOTALLY defenseless.they're afraid of drone attacks, they're totally defenseless

Here’s all the high-tech gear cartels use to sneak drugs into the US
There's some seriously, complex tech behind sneaking drugs across the border. We spoke to an expert on the subject and got the full scoop.www.businessinsider.com
The CIA & FBIThey scared. It won't ever happen, just saber rattling. But I love the fact that the cartels is on high alert right now. Aint nobody sleeping well on that side of the border right now![]()
Mexico falls under the US sphere of influence. Theres no reason to invade. It would be like invading Canada. Yeah we could do it but why
The US doesn't care about the cartels until the cartel start doing things like outright killing and kidnapping US citizens. And even now the cartel is making it right. So still no reason to invade.
I think they would be able to defend themselves better than most would expect. So you think they have high tech lethal military grade drones?![]()
I think they would be able to defend themselves better than most would expect.
It's fun to think that America can squash everyone like a roach at the snap of their fingers, but all the smart people in the world don't only live in the US.
Drones aren't invincible.
nikka pleaseNo, you couldn’t invade Mexico.
Mexico is much much larger than Iraq/Afghanistan and has 120,000,000 people - many of whom are heavily armed and have relatives in the US who could cause trouble in your cities like LA and Chicago.
If Americans couldn’t pacify smaller, less populated Iraq/Afghanistan- what makes you think you can successfully occupy Mexico?
The hubris!
