they used stealth helicopters, they were as top secret as usa military was back then. they would of never risked these chopers if they could of flown in with regular ones. nobody in pakistan gave him up, the usa followed one of bin ladens old drs he had in afghanistan which lead them directly to his house. they werent even sure bin laden was there, all they knew was a 6'5 guy lived in that house and obama ordered the raid
the cartels have infiltrated pretty much every level of their government, im sure every new president tries to change things but the reality is that its impossible with their current situation.
