Nothing like this year when they beat this shyt out of y'all, but they won many games.
Nobody respect that flu infested win. He’s accomplished nothing at scUM aside from being the 1st scUM coach to lose all his home games in a single season. :picard:

I know it was his alma mater, but I was slightly surprised he went back to college. He was a good NFL coach.

I think they were throwing more money at him than anyone else, and I don't think the NFL options at the time were very attractive

yeah I mean youre right, he had a ton of success with the 9ers. I dont know why I would be hesitant to be excited, its just the Bears fan in me

also, if you read reactions about his career at Michigan, people seem to dog him quite a bit - but college and NFL are not the same (obviously he quieted doubters this season tho)

I think he'd be great for Fields and the Bears. The turnaround he had with the 49ers was incredible. However, he is stubborn. The 49ers offense got stale under him and he did have a rep in the Bay Area for wearing on people at Stanford and with the 49ers(though I blame that situation on the GM and owner)

I think the issue of why he gets dogged is people rip him for not winning the big games/struggling against rivals. Cant speak on Michigan. But with the 49ers we struggled with the Hawks(but who wouldn't have back then) and I think he had some bad luck in the NFC Championship/Super Bowl.

To be honest, it's a smart move if he does. He probably fits better in the NFL and with winning the B1G and beating tOSU this year, he can feel some level of accomplishment on what was done at Michigan.

Bears should be at his doorstep and give him the keys to the franchise

if he does, I feel like its almost certainly going to be the Bears

I have no idea how to feel about that

I think he's a solid pairing with Fields, although Fields uses his legs probably more sparingly than Colin, he can incorporate a mix of his offense at Michigan with his offense in SF. The defense doesn't really need help, so it could work.

And the division may be wide open if Rodgers get his way.

Coli.
Bears and Raiders I don't see happening. Hes not going somewhere with a lameduck GM. The reason he left SF last time was GM drama.

The only way he would leave Michigan IMO is for

1. A ready-to-win now or very soon situation

AND

2. Total control of personnel/operations

I'm not seeing what team is giving him that, unless one of these teams decides to just completely clean house.
The 49ers when he got there was a badly run team with a QB at the time everyone considered a bust and he turn it around.

I'm not saying he can't turn it around I'm saying he doesn't need to. His stature is way different now than it was then. He can wait and pick and choose what job he wants that is ready to win.
