I would be sad if he left michigan but even in the NIL/transfer portal realm, it will be hard to beat the alabamas/georgias on the big stage. He silenced a lot of doubters this year.

If he does leave, I can see gattis being named the HC, JJ is in place as the QB, team will be highly ranked next year with a very weak schedule setting up another possible playoff run..

OT, but y’all thinking Cade will enter the portal?

I'll be surprised if he actually leaves, dude finally got over the hump and beat us. It wouldn't make sense to dip now when I assume he can basically call all of the shots.

He beat tOSU and won the B1G. Job well done. They had no shot in the CFP semifinal and there's a chasm between Michigan and UGA/Bama. He's kinda maxed out on what he can do there.

He can have the Michigan job until he retires I guess, but I think he might be looking for his next project.

I doubt he leaves for the NFL, I think he wants a new contract with UMICH. He's actually getting paid more to be a college coach. His 49ers contract was for $5 million a year. He is making $4.5 million from the school this year, not including endorsements and any other booster money he brings in. I don't see an NFL team willing to buy him out for $2 million when they have a bunch of other coaches that don't have a buyout clause in there contract.

His Michigan contract will pay him a "base salary of $4 million in 2021, which will increase to $4.426 million in 2025. He can earn a maximum bonus of $3.475 million in each year of the contract, including $1 million bonuses for winning the Big Ten championship and the College Football Playoff National Championship, and $500,000 bonuses for winning the Big Ten East Division and reaching the CFP." Michigan would owe Harbaugh $4 million if it fired him in 2021, a guarantee that goes down $1 million each subsequent year of the contract. Harbaugh's buyout to leave Michigan begins at $2 million in 2021 and drops by $500,000 in each subsequent year until 2025."
