Broncos...and yes I'm aware of the accusation of the salary cap issue back in the mid-90's that Pats fans accuse us of using to gain a competitive advantage. But it wasn't use to stack the team it was used to build a new stadium (Invesco).
:whew:

Yeah. And don't forget to mention how they got caught again a few years later.

I knew you were gonna dance, but you surprised me with that one :heh:

Read the post I quoted...

I did. There's no logic in it that suggests I'd believe that "if Charles Manson says he's innocent we should believe and blindly defend him"

The fact that these simple ass internet posts are going over your head and leading you into making illogical leaps in logic illustrates how easily it is for you to have been tricked into believing the league actually proved anything.

From 1996-98, the NFL found that the Broncos had agreed to defer payments to quarterback John Elway and running back Terrell Davis. The total amount of the payments was $29 million. As part of the agreement, the Broncos would pay both players in deferred payments, with interest.

So yes, the Broncos did circumvent the salary cap, but they were in the process of building Invesco Field. The cost of this stadium was approximately $401 million, of which $100 million Pat Bowlen was responsible for. Denver's actions in circumventing the cap were a direct result of the stadium being built. In other words, no stadium would have meant no agreements, no deferred payments and no salary cap infractions.

Yes Broncos circumvented the salary cap and cooperated with the league took the fine and didn't wine about it like Pats fans are doing (and a Dolphin fan :francis:)

Deferring payments to your two best players to circumvent the salary cap is not cheating? Can you please explain without copying and pasting?

I'll say this, the NFL is a joke of an organization. What Brady did would be like the equivalent of the SEC bringing charges against me and I destroy my computer prior to them coming in and doing an investigation.

:wow:@ not understanding the logic in your own posts...

This is what YOU wrote...

he's saying he's innocent and willing to stand on that, it's easy to see why an innocent person would want to stand on their innocence.
This post CLEARLY implies Brady (the subject of this thread) is innocent because he says so and is taking a "stand on his innocence"...

To anyone with at least half a functional brain Brady is clearly lying and not an innocent man...all the evidence you need to come to that conclusion are his actions...

So now back to my question...If Manson says he's innocent should we believe him and blindly defend him like ma$$holes are doing for Tommy despite his actions?

If you still don't get it I give up....

I'll do you one better:

Search and look up when Tagliabue who was commissioner then claimed that the Salary Cap circumventing issued by the Broncos gave the team a "competitive advantage". It was an accounting irregularity used to build a new stadium it was not used to illegally stack a team.

This is important because the commissioner would explain why the punishment was issued and what it means. For example, Goodell said for Tom Brady to deflate the footballs not only circumvented the rules for football measurements but was also similar to using PEDs (an unfair competitive advantage). Goodell issued punishments for the Falcons as well this year for pumping noise into the stadium...this was because it gave the team an unfair competitive advantage against other teams.

LMAO @ you still not comprehending.

Look, applying my logic to Manson would be saying this: "Manson is saying he's innocent, and is willing to stand on that. It's easy to see why he's standing on that innocence."

It's NOT saying that you, me, we should believe his profession of innocence. Like I said you being confused by something so simple says it all :laff:

That's not one better. Not even close. Without their "accounting error" they wouldn't have been able to pay for Terrell Davis or Elway. Saying they had to do it to pay for a new stadium is completely obfuscating the infraction.

Are you denying that they did this to keep those players on the roster?
