I'm still upset I spent money on this.
I don't understand why nikkas hate on this movie so much!!!!! The movie is like a 3 outta 5 stars-quality film, why nikkas treat it like a 0.5 outta 5 stars-quality movie?
Jaden makes people sad because he's a decently gifted young black kid with no worries during a down-time in the economy.

Will and Jada supplied the bulk of the budget and Will was a writer. So essentially he is using his own money to make the movie possible. With out his own money a 2nd may not get funded. This movie didn't make enough money back. Its in the black but still not enough for investors to risk a sequel.

I saw this movie in theaters. It wasn't good but it definitely wasn't anywhere near as bad as RT would have you believe. At worst it was below average. Jaden's performance was pretty terrible though.
But still there was no reason for the critics to go in on this movie like they did. It was bad but it wasn't THAT bad.

I actually thought people were over reacting on how trash it was on here until I watched it.. it's properly rated on here
I think the made reason critics hated the movie is because of the expectations made by the trailer. The expected will smith to be the lead and carry the movie but it was jaden instead. Not only that he was basically

I did enjoy the movie. It is in no way near as bad as people are making it out to be. But damn I'm getting tired of Will ruining potentially epic movies. The problem with this movie is that its not long enough to develop the characters, the messages, the universe and the lore. It also uses too much "science" and bad science that makes a lot of whats going on questionable. Will intended for this not to be mindless but to be thought provoking. There was no reason to really care for the Will or Jaden or the plight of humanity fighting on another planet. With the technology the had and how they were using it, there was no reason to be on another planet fighting a war with an alien race that uses beast more ferocious than the creatures on earth "evolved" to specifically kill humans
.These creatures can only function by smelling secreted hormones. Wear a hazmat suit and shoot it with a gun. Jedi use light sabers and there is a developed detailed logical reasons to why. These people use an awesome saber weapon, but for no real reason! The only reason the alien bio-weapons functioned the way they did was so Will's theme of fear would have purpose.
Everything you said is 100% true, but unfortunately that doesn't apply to this movie.
