Me: Define copium

Copilot:
"Copium" is a slang term that blends the words "cope" and "opium." It's used humorously or sarcastically—especially online—to describe a fictional or metaphorical drug that people "inhale" to help them deal with disappointment, failure, or harsh reality.

Example Usage:

• After a sports team loses:

"Fans are huffing copium after that brutal loss."

• In political or gaming discussions:

"That’s a lot of copium you’re taking to believe that strategy still works."

Tone and Context:

• It's often used ironically or mockingly, especially in meme culture.

• It can be self-deprecating or directed at others, depending on the context.

Would you like a meme-style visual or GIF that illustrates the concept of "copium"?

Me: Ok, now use this in the context of Xbox increasing the pricing of gamepass

Copilot:
Here’s how you might use “copium” in the context of Xbox increasing the price of Game Pass:

“Xbox fans are on heavy copium right now, trying to convince themselves that the Game Pass price hike means better games are coming—even though their wallets say otherwise.”

Or in meme-style tone:

Me:” Game Pass is still a great deal.

Wallet: You’re inhaling pure copium, my guy.”

Would you like me to create a meme or visual that captures this sentiment?

:pachaha:

Want me to come back and quote these posts when you pay $80 for Wolverine :usure:
Two best games on gamepass this year are 50 and 20 dollars lol
Here you are playing and/or being very interested in $280 worth of day one gamepass games in between E33 and Silksong.

$40

Dualist aka pontiff Sullivan?
$50
Yall gonna make be play this puzzle ass puzzle game, huh?
$30
Jesus, finally got the double jump
$20

$70

The beta has been super popular, its probably the next semi-big game

i was mad they weren’t following up sifu with another action game but it seems they made the right choice going with a multiplayer/sports game.
$30

$40

And that’s without even talking about discounts or games that aren’t “day one” :wow:

Even at the increased Price gamepass would have already saved you lots of money this year if you didn’t have a Cult to influence :wow:

One game is $80.

Even if it takes you 2 months to beat, which most games won’t, you still come out spending less with GP.
Why and where are you paying $80 a pop for games!?! Plus the driving consumer base for the industry are millennials so alot of us have jobs and other responsibilities besides games so yeah it takes a month or sometimes two to beat a game. You literally hear us on here complaining about our backlogs all the time lol

AAA games are $70-$80 right now.

Again even at 2 months $60 is still cheaper than you’d pay for a AAA game day one.

Like i said, it’s all about your own personal habits.

You have the option of paying $70-$80 per game, or if it works for you, you could pay $30 and be done with it.:manny:

We got receipts here. For most single player games dudes are done within a month or two.(some in just days:huhldup:)

Put it this way.

As a “Millennial gamer” I’d much rather pay $30-$60 to play Ninja Gaiden from the comfort of my own home, with extra perks(that $10 in fortnight money bout be go crazy for my kids :wow:) and discounts, games for me and my kids to try out.

Than i would

Pay $70 for a physical copy i gotta walk into a gamestop:huhldup: or walmart to buy.

But that’s just me. Good thing options are…….options :blessed:

@ me when Wolverine is $80.
$280 still isn't $360. What we doing here?
And you keep skipping right over the fact that you're still comparing rental vs owning these games as if it was the same thing.
"But but but we have gamepass and still buy games!!!" - OK.....so you are on a lease to own program with your games. Cool.

I have plenty of physical games and haven't been to a store to buy games in damn near a decade.

I buy shyt like Megabonk for 8 dollars to try it out. Even if it doesn't hit, I hooked that developer up with a purchase, not a "play"

Developers get paid good money for having their games on gamepass.

Different means to the same end.
