The working is vague.

If they are saying that someone can start at ups now and be making 170 a year in salary + benifits in 5 years…. Then that’s not a bad deal at all.

Now… if they are saying you could make 170 over the course of 5 years… that’s bs. You Can make more money sitting at home answering calls for apple.

Break this down for the slow ones in the back like me :jbhmm:
CEO said drivers will average $170,000 in pay and benefits such as health care and pensions at the end of a 5 year contract that the delivery giant struck with the Teamsters Union last month, averting a strike.

So the CEO saying that by the end of the 5 years, the total (pay, health care and pension) would equal that-

So the pay may be like 80k
health care package worth 50k
and pension worth 40k

or whatever the #s are!

Notice how it ain't saying it starts now!
The CEO could pull some bull shyt in 5 years!

Or keep his word!

But regardless the 170k is a sum of all the pay and benefits.

Not just 170k salary!

Yeah they being disingenuous with that article… Delivery drivers ain’t making 170k… it will be the CDL drivers who are driving those double trailers over the road..

Also if the CDL drivers getting 170k how much are ups cargo pilots getting? That’s where the real money is at

Yeah, what’s the catch tho :comeon:

Is that 170 the absolute top of the payscale assuming you’re a long haul driver with 10+ yrs of experience willing to put in crazy amounts of overtime?
I know they sold their freight/LTL to another company so I'm not sure how much over the road driving they do now. I see them pulling doubles a lot but I think the company that bought them don't wanna change the trucks over

nobody should be complaining, that UPS shyt is hard work and they fought to get better compensation + A/C (which should've been provided anyways.) Those ppl were fukked for so long, they deserve the pay bump. In reality, UPS could pay them more but those execs will not take a pay cut.
I was talking to my UPS homie and I said good shyt with getting AC. Breh said that's only in newer trucks.
