US airlines like Delta and United are so desperate for pilots they are dropping some requirements and considering cutting training hours to get more..

Or....wait...hang on...just hear me out. I know this is controversial...

Pay them more money.

Agreed. Pilots make good money but when you consider how important the job is and how much responsibility they have, they should definitely be making more than an airline C-level exec.

Teachers are about the only other gig where they pay vs. responsibility ratio is completely out of whack.

Spooky times ahead.

Maybe they should throw the bag at Military pilots..I think Naval pilots after flight school are obligated to serve 6years..they should throw the bag at those pilots who have been in 10-20years

Thing is I doubt these airliners will have a Bag that competes with the retirement you get from military so :manny:
Covid really exposed how easily society can crumble..even more so if people decide not to contribute to society.

Like if people lost the desire to drive semi trucks...our country would be in Deep trouble.

And of course of rail system is trash so we can't rely on that....:francis:
Greyhound? :mjlol: greyhound is only if you really broke and/or you tryna carry some dope across country.

The richest bonuses are available to fighter (11F), bomber (11B), special operations (11S), mobility (11M), C2ISR (11R), and rescue helicopter pilots (11H) whose Active-duty service commitment expires in fiscal 2022. They can qualify for varying amounts depending on how long they commit to stay in uniform:

  • Three to four years: $105,000 and $140,000
  • Five to seven years: $175,00 to $245,000
  • Eight to 12 years: $280,000 to $420,000
New Pilot Bonuses Could Be Worth Up to $420K - Air Force Magazine

They already do breh. :francis:

Student pilots in the AF are making $58-66K plus aviation pay, bonus, and TDY pays and that's fresh out of OTS as 2LT/1LT.

Pilots get paid $175k in the majors. Veterans at $250k

They do get paid.
You're talking about top end pilots. What about all those other guys on small airlines or hauling packages for UPS, or copilots? IF you make it to the big leagues you're set unless you screw up.

That high speed rail is looking real good right now…

#BothSides
The domestic airplane lobby killed most of the high speed rail initiatives to destroy competition. It’s time to fast track all of them - no pilots or undertrained pilots is a national security issue.
