Knowledge dropped. This is a new spin on a existing idea.
Non line officers are terminal degreed professionals such as Doctors, Lawyers, Chaplains, Nurses and certain flavors of STEM who directly commission in a Armed Service branch to a rank commensurate with their educational level and work experience. I once saw a senior ER Nurse commission in as a Lt Col.
The biggest difference between non line officers and regular O's is Non Lines never hold command of Force Operations.
They spend their whole career as specialized officers in their career field and at most will promote to a senior advisor/administrator role, as opposed to being a regular General officer who has influence on doctrine and policy that drives the entire force.
This initiative is an expansion of an existing program that the Services are doing to lure in tech professionals and commission them as non lIne officers. And it's not all TechBros either. If you ever heard of Dragos, their CEO (who was a USAF Officer but got out) is one of the leading experts on OT&E/ICS systems and recently re-entered service as a Army Lt. Col in the National Guard. Experts like that will be critical in helping shore up domestic systems.
I don't think on this board or offline, that 90% of black folks even have it in them to be on some "Thank you for your service"Wait..... the coli cares about the military?....
Since when?

Did this require them to get clearances?
Seems scummy since it could be conflict of interest involved. Tech getting in on the military industrial complex
As much as our military budget is you'd think the military would have it's own internal tech innovation mechanism that would rival any other large corporation
It’s gonna hit when the mid terms are “cancelled”So are we ready to admit USA is a fascist state now![]()
I don't think on this board or offline, that 90% of black folks even have it in them to be on some "Thank you for your service"shyt like white folks.
However, don't sleep on the fact that a lot of brehs serve or have people in their families that serve. I'm from Newport News, VA, which is a big military melting pot and has one of the biggest shipyards in the world. Granddad served in Vietnam and Korea. Went to school in Norfolk down the street, which has a huge Naval base.
Same thing with other areas like Fort Bragg in NC and Fort Hood in TX, which have large surrounding black populations. Besides that, a lot of brehs sign up to get a degree, make some money or get some structure.
I say all that to say that shyt like this can resonate even if you aren't a bleeding heart about it or trying to be a "Patriot".
they will go to a Boot Camp of sorts called Direct commission course (dcc). It’s way easier than regular army officer candidate school (which is for Line Officers) and way shorter. No boot camp?
They shouldI'll never believe another serious military or political espionage movie. They all have to be comedies now
Imagine trying to drop a show like 24 in this climate?
Going to disagree with this but everything else is cool.if you’re worried about tech influencing the military industrial complex, bad news, that has happened a long time ago. AWS and Microsoft have very lucrative contracts with the department of defense. and on the reserve/National Guard side, many tech engineers, CEOs and upper managers in industry are enlisted and commissioned within the ranks. I have heard and seen things regarding personnel who are actively serving selling their own product that they developed in the civilian sector to the military…… it’s not a new thing.
As far as research and development , we do have internal dev tems/intiatives…. And we are always 10 steps behind industry. Most planners and researchers predict that the winner of a war between China and the United States will be decided by who has the advantage in artificial intelligence, hence why there’s a huge push to modernize the department of defenses capabilities with the help of industry experts.
From my understanding, AI as a do all solution is pretty gassed.Going to disagree with this but everything else is cool.
Especially with AI.. I think its a joke. Not AI in itself, this gassing of it.
