Georgia State isn’t an HBCU. It’s just has a lot black people and black grads.Georgia is the best state for Black people.
- Black mayor of Atlanta
- Black governor of the state of Georgia (likely)
- HBCUs of all flavors
- A big public HBCU called Georgia State, which is churning out Black grads
- There's a world-class tech school called Georgia Tech where you can pay pennies to get a degree if you are a resident
- Opportunities in film, music, etc.
- A two-hour flight to just about any other Black hub--DMV, Charlotte, Memphis, NYC, Philly, etc.
- Black-oriented music festivals, etc.

Death in numbers. Louisiana sounds like hell
Louisiana is the world's prison capital
Louisiana is the world's prison capital. The state imprisons more of its people, per head, than any of its U.S. counterparts. First among Americans means first in the world. Louisiana's incarceration rate is nearly five times Iran's, 13 times China's and 20 times Germany's.

And this is why if I had to move to another state this would be my top optionGeorgia is the best state for Black people.

Cannot forget Florida here.I can def see, Georgia and Texas be 1 or 2 next time these r done
These two might hit 4 million each next time
10. Louisiana: 1,528,167
16. Alabama: 1,308,214
14. South Carolina: 1,372,547
17. Tennessee: 1,148,218
Really??? That;s it?18. Mississippi: 1,126,498
19. Missouri: 723,029

I'd guess 3/10th of those are Caribbean and other foreign born and their descendants.02. Florida: 3,547,464
03. New York: 3,510,933
The top 20 by percentage makes much more sense. I dont know why I always expected California to be in it and for Ohio to be much higher in the rankings.01. District of Columbia: 47.10%
02. Mississippi: 37.80%
03. Louisiana: 32.60%
04. Georgia: 32.20%
05. Maryland: 30.80%
06. South Carolina: 27.30%
07. Alabama: 26.80%
08. Delaware: 22.80%
09. North Carolina: 22.20%
10. Virginia: 19.80%
11. New York: 17.70%
12. Tennessee: 17.10%
13. Florida: 16.90%
14. Arkansas: 15.70%
15. New Jersey: 15.00%
16. Illinois: 14.60%
17. Michigan: 14.10%
18. Ohio: 12.90%
19. Texas: 12.70%
20. Connecticut: 11.90%

nah. Black people will still excel in Texas. In Houston, for example, Mexicans have the numbers, but by per capita, influence, and politics, blacks are still overwhelmingly the majority in that area. Same with many East Texas towns.Texas also has the 4th largest black Hispanic population in the country.Mexicans are going to dominate Texas in 10 years.
Black people need to head East to Georgia, North Carolina, etc.
Interesting to see Washington State and Arizona crack the top 30. Must be from the migration of black ppl from California. Interesting to see Minnesota crack the top 30 also.
Welcome bacc.True but yall used to be number 1. It's only going to get lower from here on out
Like Cali, it's a low percentage because it's way more diverse. But you cannot discount nearly 3.6 million people because of that percentage. It will likely be the first state to pass 4 million, so they say. That's a shytload of people.but only %12 percentage wise..thats the better stat to go by.
