I use a MacBook for personal and Windows for work.

The MacBook / MacOS is unnecessarily unintuitive and the file/folder system is absolute trash.

Gotta fukking put in a Konami code on the keyboard to do basic shyt that you can do with one click in Windows.

For most home users Windows is more than fine. Even a small business owner. I use both Windows and Linux in my day to day.

If you go down the linux rabbit hole it gets more elitists this version (distro) is better than that one. And they bicker back and forth.

What distro are you guys using for most your home needs?

I’ve been a long time personal Mac user but that is because I work in Windows environments and they have always been trash to me since 98. Even our servers no longer use windows really…


But I have messed around with multiple OS’s. In my personal use, its mostly Mac but I keep Windows and Linux virtual machines around in case I need them.

For Windows, idgaf which version or OS and for Linux, It’s just been Kali and Ubuntu for cyber security needs.

* forced updates that can slow your computer down before

* bloated RAM

That in itself is enough but what’s more important is they can’t keep up with apple silicon to save their life and they’ve slipped to a point where a MacBook Air is a better value proposition than any windows PC you can buy

I HATE windows 11. I do like microsoft office as I use excel, word and power point. and outlook 365 is a very good product. but the operating system is some garbage.

The seamless communication between apple devices is the true benefit to having mac hardware.

That Surface Laptop has a newer ARM processor so it's not gonna run like a traditional laptop while it gets optimized.

Surface Laptops are pretty good but the Mac Air is probably the best laptop for most people right now.

i made the mistake of updating my desktop after disabling the update for 4-5 years and it basically boots up in a boot loop since last august.

only did it just to get the latest .net framework
