Exactly. He might not have been "mainstream" anymore but he'd be making music for people who would actually buy his albums.Usher problem is that he wanted to cater to the youngins with his singles. Should have came out with something adult contemporary and he would have moved more units![]()
usher isn't a legend now?
how many r&b cats could you name who has a hit currently 20 years after his debut album?

sad that Justin timberlake can keep using the funk/rnb sound without falling off and cacs honor him every time he dropsCrazy that nobody mentioned "My Way" in this thread. Usher has 3 huge selling classics in 20 years. Thats legendary...
I'm not counting him out tho. He fell off once before 8701 came out, but he managed to bounce back
breh, i wish it was just ONE song that sucked, but i actually bought that fukking album and it was not goodI'll never understand the mindset of music fans. It's not just R&B or rap fans, all genres of fans are guilty of this. Why do yall catch such hurt feelings when someone does a song that you do not personally like or is not aimed at you? God forbid it actually becomes a hit. Sittin around crying "he abandoned us" lol. Usher's career shouldn't revolve around making one kind of song for one kind of fan for the rest of his life. If that was all it took to stop being a fan, you were never one to begin with.

He never should of abandoned us when he ran off doing those watered down EDM records![]()
