hate to break the news to yall but usher been washed since since like '08 or '09. whatever year it was when he stopped making music with Jermaine dupri.

his music career has been a comical struggle ever since.

usher is far from what yall make him out to be on here breh.

hes going down as a legendary entertainer, sure. that's about it tho.

hes tried making grown-folks music and failed. yall would know this if yall followed the music that yall claim to follow.

that's not his lane. it never was. he doesn't have the vocals, the style or the authenticity.

hes a bubble-gum artist that's just old now. its over. and its been over for about 7 or 8 years now.

Dude has had a good 4-5 album run.

One of the best r&b artists of his generation and one of the biggest selling artists of all time.

Yes he's known as an entertainer, but dude is definitely a good singer.

8701, confessions, and here I stand was "grown folks" music. Not sure what you're talking about.

People really tryna take away from the man's talent and his accomplishments.

What's wack is that I'm hearing good things about it, unlike his previous 2-3 albums.

Crazy that nobody mentioned "My Way" in this thread. Usher has 3 huge selling classics in 20 years. Thats legendary...

I'm not counting him out tho. He fell off once before 8701 came out, but he managed to bounce back

:dahell: "My Way" was the album before 8701 breh.

The irony of course is that kids don't buy shyt...especially by someone their father's age :francis:. The 40 and up crowd is way more likely to actually buy your CD.

Exactly, my dad and Babyface are the same age and he bought his new CD and plays his shyt on repeat. Usher fanbase is largely 30-40, stick with that.

Yes, technically. But there was an advanced version of 8701 that they tried to put out but the singles they released flopped hard. So they scrapped it and came out with the retail 8701 which blew up.

8701 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It was intended for an October 31, 2000 release under the title All About U, the album was delayed numerous times, following the leak of several tracks onto the online music store Napster. Usher subsequently recorded new tracks and released the album under the new title, 8701,

Wikipedia blamed it on a leak. But it was definitelty a lack of buzz. It might've been a wrap for Usher if 8701 didn't work

I remember that. But you can't use an album that didn't actually come out as an example of a fall off. But yeah you are right that would have been bad for Ush. They had this nikka rocking headscarves and shyt :mjlol:.
