He had influence, No MJ had influence over all of them because all of them are trying to catch up to MJ.
Usher one of the best, no, sorry, he is no MJ. He is no prince. He is no James Brown. He isn't even close to it. Mainly because he can't fukking sing.
Yes when i talk about R&B with my peers we talk about singers, not hits, Usher has hits, very successful, his voice is what makes almost always ignored or not talked about. Same with 112, hits, no strong singers in the group. Whereas Sisqo, Kci and jojo, R. Kelly, Carl Thomas, Eddie Levert, Aaron hall, and etc those are the people I talk about when talking about R&B. I'll throw in Anthony Hamilton, maxwell, babyface, Kevon edmunds, MArc Dorsey, and etc as well.

Usher to me isn't in that class, and maybe its because I'm a bit older so I didn't grow up listening to and thinking Usher was the be all end all, because i know who he was listening to as well, and i heard and saw the MJ videos and concert films.

:wow:

He would do much better if he gave up trying to wave ride the latest shyt coming out of ATL and make grown up music for the people who've rocked with him over the last 23 years.

Those millions and millions of fans that bought Confessions are still out there.

it don't even matter usher had his time his fans have moved on. Only way he could come out is do something completely different like work on his country music chops or do some other crazy genre. Honestly when artists like him get stuck now is the time to get experimental and not hop on trends.

I don't think his fans have moved on, I just don't think they're moved by what's hot right now.

A Young Thug feature isn't gonna make 35 plus y/o mothers run out and cop his album.

That's cool for youtube hits, but this is the type of shyt his fans want right now..

he failed at making grown music.

the people who rocked with usher thru his career aren't into grown r&b music anyway. most of his fans are the types that think Aaliyah was about to take over the game.

its a lose/lose situation.

Pretty much. His post was cool until he said Usher couldn't sing. That destroyed everything else he could have possibly made a point about.

I'm not saying he cant sing at all. but theres absolutely nothing impressive about his vocals.

ive been into this longer than you and the other guy combined. I'm not grading on curvy scales.

he flops everytime.

that's why he doesn't stay in that lane.

that's why he turned around and went pop.

and now hes making ringtone r&b singles.
