I think this series came down to coaching. Put Greg Popovich on that Thunder squad with all that talent and they would’ve seen the Warriors in the conference finals I’m sure of it. Billy had ZERO plan for Westbrook going up against a true center that closed the paint for business. As you saw agains the Rockets you can limit or even have Gobert chase his own fkn tail if you draw him out the paint and make him defend the entire half court.

Billy just had Russell run straight at Rudy with no game plan or work around.

But here”s the thing skip....

Nowhere in history what the coach do and do not do come up in a players legacy

It’s always did the player win

You play the hands that your delt so yes a Rookie lead team beat Brodie

And nothing was said about :yeshrug:

I don’t cape for Russell. Even bad coaching doesn’t stop an all world talent. Lebron James had plenty of bad coaches but he was able to see what opposing teams gameplans were to try to stop him then altered whatever was needed to win.

PG and Melo's ineptitude for most of the season and especially during this series (considering their status as superstars) is what overshadowed the Westbrook expose' (read as ek-spoh-ze).

I followed the Thunder all last year and there was never a more frustrating team to watch, especially with how Russ and PG cooked the GSW once upon a time, so I already know how lethal they can be.

They have the talent to win it all without question, but they don't have the braintrust to really take that next step. People act like Westbrook is supposed to figure everything out (like people's expectations with LeBron), but disregarding the fact that he's been busy figuring out how to become a legit point guard (which he has over the past two years). Additionally, Westbrook's burning desire for revenge got tapped out last season, so now he's really going to have to be cerebral in his play.

I really hope PG plays up to snuff because then Westbrook can ease up on the gas and play some good ball. Him, Adams, and Westbrook are as good of a big three as there ever was.

That game 6 should've condemned PG's legacy. nikka was awful out side of chunking. Epitome of passiveness. Melo didnt get many looks in the second half but he was solid when he did. Anybody who said Russ was aimlessly chucking in that game didnt watch it, I said it then and say it now

Excuses excuses excuses.
nikka lost to an offensively inept squad that relied damn near solely on a rookie to generate buckets when that motion shyt wasn't getting scrubs like Ingles or Gobert open.

Ain't nun wrong wit being a Westbrook fan but we gotta start calling a spade a spade with dude.
They lost to the better squad, not sure how this isn't common sense. Thunder season ended in January

paul george is a fraud, that scary injury unfortunately messed up his confidence. Dawg was killing in them 2013 playoffs taking the heat to game 7. Compare that paul geroge to THIS years, shyt looks like two different people
PG ain’t been shyt since that injury..
You can tell he is tentative going the cup...
I’m looking at Hayward and Boogie the same this season..
Shaun Livingston had to develop a old man game after his injury..
I think from a psychological standpoint..
Those type of injuries, always play a factor during a players entire career but playing with Russ ain’t helping either..

Anybody that watched the Thunder that year saw that collapse coming.

The team was bipolar all season.

The series even reflected their bipolar tendencies.

Billy Donvan is the worst coach in basketball

You have Melo & PG but allow Russ to play exactly the same year prior to them coming. I love Russ (my fav current player) but he needs to reign in like most of y’all say. shyts disrespectful on how some nights Okc play man
