Based on that article, he did apparently try to rescue her and was detained and had his weapon taken away.
So I can give him a pass because he tried to do the right thing and got punished for it, just like the parents.

There is no accountability for police. Gonzalez vs Castle Rock case set precedence that Cops have no legal mandate to save you or keep you from harm. Not a single Uvalde cop will be prosecuted or sued in civil court. The case above and Qualified Immunity shields cops from ever being accountable to the citizens who pay them. When you know the history of how the police came to be in America, it all starts to make sense.

If anything this just makes him and the entire force looks worse held him back ??? A WOMAN was handcuffed,convinced another police to unruffled her, then snuck into the school crawled through a window or some shyt and got her children with not a piece of body armor on her or a weapon. This man was in a hallway standing outside of a room that contained his wife who was bleeding to death and he had time to check his phone and get the fake "hold me back" routine from his other coward ass police friends. They were upset that the newspaper released the video. I understand the plight of the parents because I have a child of my own that’s of the same age, but it was important that people saw the failure of the uvalde police department. These people are trying to save their own skin - they have only self-preservation at their core - or else those kids might have been saved that day.
However, it boggles my mind why these people would defend the police in any fukking capacity. Makes me sick to my stomach that these people are so twisted in the head they can sit there and defend police inaction that day. This footage is raw and unedited(although I believe they muffled out the sound of screams), and it got ahead of the city releasing the video themselves, which might have been heavily edited and sanitized.
As sad as it is, the journalists made the right call.
