What? Did you even watch the video?
They were upset that the newspaper released the video. I understand the plight of the parents because I have a child of my own that’s of the same age, but it was important that people saw the failure of the uvalde police department. These people are trying to save their own skin - they have only self-preservation at their core - or else those kids might have been saved that day.
However, it boggles my mind why these people would defend the police in any fukking capacity. Makes me sick to my stomach that these people are so twisted in the head they can sit there and defend police inaction that day. This footage is raw and unedited, and it got ahead of the city releasing the video themselves, which might have been heavily edited and sanitized.
As sad as it is, the journalists made the right call.
The narrative they (media, news sites, politicians) are pushing is that Defund the Police and BLM are the reason those cops didn't do their job. They were too scared to act!!!! They didn't have enough money!!!! They were defunded!!!!!!!!!
So once again, black people are the problem.
I'm glad the video got released. As ugly as it is, it needs to be available easily for transparency. Not being a paywall, not by registration or wait time, not edited.
But like I said now they are juelzing and making this because of black people. "Cops are afraid to do their jobs because they'll get sued, go to jail because of BLM" don't think a black or even quarter black person was killed but whatever. Oh wait, the shooter listened to rap and rappers are generally black so it's black people's fault, again.
